Used where an above ground water outlet is required in areas which are subject to freezing temperatures and where water is not allowed to drain from the casing into the ground. Freezing is prevented by burying the valve housing and canister below the frost line and draining water from the casing after shut-off into the sealed canister. The hydrant is engineered to be fully self contained and easily serviced in the field.

NOTES:
- Addition of vacuum breaker will not allow draining of the casing. Smith is not responsible for any casings that burst or related incidents if the hydrant is supplied with a vacuum breaker.
- Post/yard hydrants are not provided for human consumption. Therefore this hydrant should be allowed to discharge for a minimum of two (2) minutes before being used for drinking or related purposes.
- Do not leave hose attached in freezing temperatures as it may prevent proper drainage of the shut-off valve/casing.
